Azimio la Umoja One Kenya’s presidential running mate Martha Karua was the chief guest at the 70th Anniversary of Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organisation. The celebrations were held in Garissa where droves of women leaders from all over the country congregated.
Martha Karua was accompanied by the spouse of Azimio Presidential candidate Raila odinga-Ida Odinga. Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organisation has been hailed for playing an integral for advancing women rights in its 70 years of existence.
Most of the women leaders who spoke at the event looked forward to another feather in its history following the nomination of Martha Karua as Azimio’s presidential running mate thus increasing the chances of having the first female Deputy President in the history of Kenya. MYWO has publicly announced its support of the Azimio ticket.
