‘Thank You’- Kenyatta tells his Cabinet Secretaries

President Uhuru Kenyatta has lauded his Cabinet for their commitment in supporting his service delivery agenda during his tenure.

In a brief meeting at State House before heading to Uhuru Gardens National Monument and Museum, President Uhuru said.

“Mine is to say thank you, it’s a wonderful 59th day of Madaraka. We look forward to having a great day, it will be my last Madaraka as President and I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you, we have worked well with you. It has been both a pleasure and honour to have you with us.”

A majority of Cabinet Secretaries donning yellow sashes had converged at State House ahead of the celebrations.

“I’m confident we have laid a firm foundation for those who shall come after to build a bigger, brighter, and more prosperous Kenya from where we have left off,” President Uhuru said.
Interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i said President Uhuru Kenyatta kept his promise to Kenyans considering many achievements especially during his second term. Matiang’i said

”Quite frankly the president has more than kept his promise, he has over-performed, because when you look at the jubilee manifesto of 2013 and now, it is shocking, the president has over performed and over kept the promise”

The most powerful minister under the Uhuru administration said, the most rewarding moment was when he was in charge of the Ministry of Education where he said he was able to dismantle the cartels in examination cheating, He also mentioned his accomplishments in the Ministry of Technology and Communications. It was during his tenure when Kenya  migrated from analogue transition in television broadcasting services to digital television broadcasting services.
Also it is under Dr. Matiang’i’s leadership that the security sector has seen major transformation.
”We added 10000 police officers every year, which translates to about 100000 new police officers. We are now able to police the Country effectively,” He said.

Other Cabinet Secretaries who have stood by the president after most of their colleagues resigned to join politics echoed the same sentiments that the President has performed well during his 10 year tenure.

The CS’s including Peter Munya of Agriculture, Betty Maina of industrialization, Amina Mohammed of sports, Monica Juma (Energy) and Eugene Wamalwa of defense said it has been working with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
