Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has officially announced his return to the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Party. Kalonzo has also announced his withdrawal from the August 9 presidential election race, where he was expected to appear before the IEBC on June 4. In a press conference at the headquarters of his campaign, Kalonzo said he had taken the initiative after holding a number of consultations since he missed the chance to become a co-candidate in the Declaration. Kalonzo has endorsed his designation as Chief Minister in the incoming government while also congratulating Azimio's running Martha Karua on her nomination. At the meeting, Kalonzo also congratulated KANU leader Gideon Moi for co-operating with him in reaching today's decision, and for being with him during his political turmoil. The Wiper leader has said from the start that he will actively participate in campaigns to secure the victory of the Azimio party come August.
