EACC denies barring Governor Kawira’s husband from using her vehicles, residence

After the county’s MCAs allegedly forbade him from sleeping at Governor Kawira’s official residence and from using any of her State-provided vehicles, Baichu urged the anti-graft watchdog to explicitly highlight the benefits he has been granted as Meru’s first gentleman on Friday during a press briefing.

The EACC responded by stating that although it had previously written to officials questioning their honesty, this was the first time they had received “theatrical” responses in return.

“The Commission takes great exception to the strange averments ensuing from the press conference alluding to alleged directives regarding the use, or otherwise, of the Governor’s official vehicles and residence by her spouse,” EACC stated.
